Electric-type Pokémon are only weak to Ground-type moves in the main series games (ignoring any extra weaknesses that come from dual-typing).

Core weakness

  • Pure Electric types (like Pikachu, Jolteon, Luxray) have just one standard weakness: Ground-type attacks such as Earthquake, Earth Power, and Magnitude.
  • Ground types also completely negate Electric attacks, so Electric moves do no damage at all to pure Ground Pokémon.

Dual types twist

  • When an Electric Pokémon has a second type (like Electric/Flying, Electric/Water, Electric/Dragon), that extra type can add more weaknesses (for example, Electric/Flying becomes weak to Rock and Ice as well).
  • Those extra weaknesses come from the secondary type, not from Electric itself; Electric’s own built-in defensive flaw is still just Ground.
