In the Netflix series Wednesday , Xavier Thorpe is very much alive at the end of season 1, and his later “disappearance” is explained in-universe rather than by anything happening to him physically.

In the show’s story

  • Xavier is cleared after being wrongly suspected as the Hyde killer at Nevermore Academy.
  • His father, Vincent Thorpe, is furious that Xavier was falsely accused of murder and that the school failed to protect him.
  • As a result, Vincent pulls both his donations and his son from Nevermore and transfers Xavier to another school in Switzerland (often referenced as Reichenbach).
  • In season 2’s setup, the new principal briefly mentions that Xavier has left for this other academy, and we don’t see him on-screen.

So, what happened to Xavier in Wednesday?
Within the story, he wasn’t killed or vanished mysteriously — he was written as having transferred to a different school abroad after being falsely accused, and he says his goodbye through a letter and a final piece of artwork for Wednesday.
