Hamlet is a tragedy about a Danish prince who is ordered by his father’s ghost to take revenge on his uncle, who murdered the old king, married Hamlet’s mother, and seized the throne. The play follows Hamlet’s struggle with doubt, grief, and moral hesitation as he pretends to be mad, searches for proof of the murder, and delays killing his uncle until a final duel where nearly all the main characters, including Hamlet, die.
