Transitional rates
A smaller group of pensioners are still on transitional rates, which are lower than the normal rates. For them, the maximum fortnightly total is $977.70 for a single person and $788.80 each for a couple.
What it depends on
Your actual pension can be lower than the maximum because Services Australia uses income and assets tests to work out the amount you get. Eligibility also depends on meeting age and residency rules.
