Mike Vrabel played linebacker in the NFL, primarily as an outside linebacker but also at inside linebacker in the New England Patriots’ 3–4 defense.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1997 and spent 14 seasons in the league, most notably with the New England Patriots, where he started at both outside and inside linebacker and became a three-time Super Bowl champion. On special packages, he occasionally lined up on offense as a situational tight end, catching multiple touchdown passes, but his true position was linebacker.
