Wellbutrin is an antidepressant medication; more specifically, it is a norepinephrine–dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI), sometimes grouped under atypical antidepressants. It is the brand name for the drug bupropion, which is also used for major depressive disorder, seasonal affective disorder, and, under other brand names, to help people quit smoking.
