The July 4 special quarters are expected to show a small “July 4” privy mark , not a normal mint mark, placed to the left of Thomas Jefferson on the obverse. They’re also described as no-mint-mark quarters mixed into circulation with the regular 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters.

What to look for

  • A tiny July 4 privy mark on the front side, near Jefferson’s portrait.
  • No standard P or D mint mark on these special pieces.
  • The reverse shows the Liberty Bell and “The Declaration of Independence” lettering.

In plain English

If you find one, it should look like a regular 2026 quarter at first glance, but with that small July 4 marking instead of the usual mint mark. The Mint says only 250,000 of these are being released into circulation, so they’re meant to be found in pocket change rather than bought directly.

Quick note

If your question was about a different “July 4 mint mark” quarter release, this current one is the circulating 2026 Declaration of Independence quarter with the special privy mark.
