Sly Stone passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 82, at his home in the Granada Hills area of Los Angeles.

He died after a prolonged battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other underlying health issues, and his family described his passing as peaceful and surrounded by loved ones.
