How it works

  • After the group stage, players start the knockout rounds with a clean slate for single yellow cards.
  • After the quarter-finals, yellow cards are cleared again before the semi-finals.
  • Two yellow cards in separate matches before a reset still trigger a one-match suspension.
  • A red card, or two yellows in the same match, still leads to suspension and is not wiped by the reset.

Quick example

If a player gets one yellow in the group stage, it disappears before the knockout rounds begin. If that same player later picks up another yellow in the knockout phase before the quarter-final reset, the card count matters again for suspension purposes.
