Indigenous Peoples’ Day in the United States is observed on the second Monday in October each year.

In Canada, a similarly named observance—National Indigenous Peoples Day—is celebrated on June 21 , aligning with the summer solstice.

Many cities, states, and institutions now use Indigenous Peoples’ Day in place of, or alongside, Columbus Day on that October date, to honor Native peoples and their histories, cultures, and ongoing contributions.
