when was nawsa founded
The National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) was founded in 1890.
NAWSA emerged from the merger of two earlier organizations, the National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA) and the American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA), which united their efforts that year to campaign for women’s voting rights in the United States. Many historical accounts specify that the new, combined association was formally created at a convention on February 18, 1890, in Washington, D.C.
