In PoE 2 , “venerate a Maraketh shrine” means to interact with the shrine at the end of a Trial of the Sekhemas room and pay the Sacred Water cost, usually 5, to claim its effect or restore Honour. The phrase is used in boon, relic, or affliction text that triggers when you use one of those shrines.

What it refers to

Maraketh Shrines are the water fountains or pools you see at the end of certain Trial rooms, where Sacred Water is spent for rewards or Honour restoration. Some shrine types also grant boons or special Trial effects, so “venerate” here just means “use/activate the shrine”.

Common examples

  • Fountain of Youth : restores Honour when you venerate a Maraketh Shrine.
  • Holy Water : grants a random minor boon when you venerate a Maraketh Shrine.

Practical tip

If a boon says “when you venerate a Maraketh Shrine,” you need to spend Sacred Water at one of those end-of-room shrine choices, not at Balbala the merchant, since that interaction does not count.
