Roald Dahl is most closely associated with living in the village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, England, where he spent around 36 years and wrote many of his famous children’s books at his home, Gipsy House, on the edge of the village. Earlier, just after World War II, he lived for a time at Wisteria Cottage, 89 High Street, in nearby Amersham, before moving to Great Missenden and later also spending periods in the United States.
