The Great North Run starts on the A167 Central Motorway in Newcastle, near Claremont Road on the edge of the city centre and Town Moor. It then follows a city‑to‑coast route and finishes on the Coast Road by the seafront in South Shields, close to the Bamburgh pub area (postcode NE34 6SS).
