Chard is a small town in the county of Somerset , in the South West of England, close to the borders with Devon and Dorset. It lies on the A30 road, around 15 miles (about 24 km) south‑west of the larger town of Yeovil. The area is part of rural South Somerset, not far from the English Channel coast and roughly 240 km west of London.
