Jannik Sinner is from Innichen (also known as San Candido) in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy.

He was born there on 16 August 2001 and grew up nearby in the mountain town of Sexten (Sesto) in the Dolomites, a German-speaking area close to the Austrian border.
