Punxsutawney is a small borough in western Pennsylvania, in Jefferson County, about 90 miles northeast of Pittsburgh and roughly 100 miles south of Erie.

It sits along Mahoning Creek at the junction of U.S. Route 119 and Pennsylvania Route 36, in the Pennsylvania Wilds region, and is world‑famous for its annual Groundhog Day celebration featuring Punxsutawney Phil.
