Riyadh is the capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia, located in the central part of the Arabian Peninsula on the Najd plateau in central Saudi Arabia.

It lies roughly at latitude 24.7° North and longitude 46.7° East, making it an inland city east of the Red Sea and west of the Persian/Arabian Gulf.
