- This is the âintendedâ main place to enchant. You need:
* Inside the University, go to the **Chironasium** ; the Altars of Enchanting are in there.
- ArchâMageâs Quarters (Imperial City)
- Once you eventually become ArchâMage , there is also access to enchanting there.
- Frostcrag Spire (DLC player home)
- If you have the Frostcrag Spire / Wizardâs Tower addâon, the tower includes an Altar of Enchanting.
* You must fully âactivateâ the setup by buying the required magical furnishings (like the candle box) from Aurelinwae in the Mystic Emporium in the Imperial City.
Quick extra: âenchantingâ without an altar
Even before you unlock an altar, you can effectively enchant gear by using Sigil Stones from Oblivion gates (they apply a fixed enchantment to a piece of gear when you use them in your inventory). This doesnât need the Mages Guild or soul gems, just the stones themselves.
