Caine is found by following the Lost Apprentice quest chain in Gothic Remake: first ask Cor Kalom about him in the Swamp Camp, then check Caine’s hut near the swamp weed mashers, where you’ll find a drawing that points you to the Abandoned Mine. From there, head to the mine in the north-east area, go through the underground section, and you’ll eventually reach Caine’s corpse near the ruins, guarded by an undead orc.

Fast route

  1. Talk to Cor Kalom to start the quest.
  1. Go to Caine’s hut in the Swamp Camp, near the swamp weed mashers.
  1. Pick up the drawing of the Abandoned Mine and show it to Lester if needed.
  1. Head to the Abandoned Mine and work through the underwater passage.
  1. Find Caine’s body in the ruins, defeat the undead orc, loot the strange amulet, and return to Cor Kalom.

Small tip

If you’re getting lost in the Swamp Camp, use Caine’s hut clue first; that’s the part most players miss. The mine section is the real destination, not the hut itself.
