You can reliably farm Floaters in Fallout 76 at several fixed spawn points across the map, especially in Toxic Valley, Savage Divide, the Mire, and Cranberry Bog.

Main Floater farming spots

These locations consistently spawn groups of Floaters and are great for challenges like “Kill a Floater” or for farming pus sacs and junk.

  • Big Maw (The Mire): Around 6 Floaters spawn in the forested area; it’s one of the densest Floater spots.
  • Lake Eloise (Savage Divide south): About 6 Floaters around the lake and campsite island; run a loop if they don’t trigger immediately.
  • Solomon’s Pond (near Whitespring): Several Floaters spawn near the house and pond; another can spawn by the nearby bridge.
  • Veiled Sundew Grove (Cranberry Bog): Up to 6 Floaters along the inner paths toward the center of the grove.

Events and random encounters

If you just play normally, you’ll also see Floaters from:

  • Public events: Eviction Notice, Radiation Rumble, Safe and Sound (they can spawn as part of enemy waves).
  • Random “assault” encounters: Floaters vs. Scorched, Cultists, or Blood Eagles out in the world.
  • Camp/random encounter nodes: Floater hostile camps or Super Mutants “admiring” a Floater.

Simple farming loop example
