Emmett Till’s body was found in the Tallahatchie River near a spot now known as Graball Landing, close to Glendora in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi.

His disfigured body was recovered from the river on August 31, 1955, several days after he was abducted and murdered. The area at Graball Landing, near the confluence of the Tallahatchie River and Black Bayou, has since become a nationally recognized memorial site connected to the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument.
