The current Senate Majority Leader is Senator John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota.

He was chosen by Senate Republicans in November 2024 to succeed Mitch McConnell as their leader after Republicans regained control of the Senate, which also made him the Majority Leader when the new Congress convened.
