As of the 2026 season, UCLA’s offensive coordinator is Dean Kennedy.

Current UCLA OC

Dean Kennedy was officially hired as offensive coordinator by new head coach Bob Chesney in December 2025 and begins his first season with the Bruins in 2026. He joined the staff as part of Chesney’s new leadership group, replacing Tino Sunseri, who left the program in 2025.

Background and Coaching History

Kennedy spent the previous two seasons (2024–25) as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at James Madison. Before that, he had worked at Holy Cross (2022–23) as OC/quarterbacks and also held assistant roles at Florida, Mississippi State, and ASA College.

He has a strong track record in the run game, with JMU’s offense ranking among the best in the country in rushing yards during the 2025 season.

What to Expect Offensively

Kennedy is expected to bring a modern, up-tempo offense that leans heavily on the ground game, powered by a downhill running attack and tight game- management at quarterback. Since he has a long history with Chesney, the UCLA offense will likely reflect their shared philosophy of physical, disciplined football built around a strong offensive line and consistent quarterback play.
