Halo was originally created by the game studio Bungie , with the first game, Halo: Combat Evolved (2001), led by key developers like Jason Jones (project lead) and Alexander Seropian (Bungie founder and executive producer). Today, the franchise is overseen and developed by 343 Industries (now called Halo Studios), an internal Xbox Game Studios team created after Bungie became independent from Microsoft.
