The painting The School of Athens was made by the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio), between about 1509 and 1511.

It is a large fresco in the Vatican (in the Stanza della Segnatura), showing ancient philosophers like Plato and Aristotle gathered in a grand classical setting.
