Washington Dulles International Airport is named after John Foster Dulles, who served as U.S. Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953 until his death in 1959.

He was a major Cold War foreign policy figure, known for his strong anti- communist stance and for shaping U.S. alliances and strategy during that era.
