“Red Red Wine” was written by American singer-songwriter Neil Diamond in 1967, and first released on his album Just for You.

The reggae version most people know today is by UB40, who covered the song in 1983 after first hearing Jamaican singer Tony Tribe’s 1969 reggae rendition, but the official songwriting credit remains with Neil Diamond.
