In MTG Arena , you don’t manually “flip” most cards the way you might in paper Magic. If a card transforms, Arena usually does it for you once the card’s condition is met.

How it works

  • Transform cards : play the front side, then when the required trigger happens, Arena flips it automatically.
  • Double-faced cards : you choose the side you’re casting if the card can be played from either side, and Arena handles the change once it’s on the battlefield or when the rules allow it.
  • Paper-style checklist cards are for physical play, not something you need to manage in Arena.

What to do in Arena

  1. Cast the card normally.
  2. Read the card’s transform condition.
  3. Wait for the game to prompt or automatically transform it.
  4. If nothing happens, check whether the card actually transforms or only has an alternate face you can choose when casting.

Quick example

If a permanent says it transforms when you meet a condition, you usually don’t drag it or click a special flip button first; Arena handles the transformation once the condition is satisfied.

Paper vs Arena

In tabletop Magic, you may need sleeves, checklist cards, or the physical double-faced card itself. In Arena, those physical-workaround rules don’t apply.

TL;DR: In MTG Arena, you usually don’t flip cards manually — Arena does it automatically when the card’s rules say it should.
