Go to Celadon Game Corner , beat the Rocket Grunt who’s staring at the poster, then inspect the poster to reveal the hidden staircase. From there, work your way through the Rocket Hideout until you reach Giovanni in the basement; after you beat him, he gives you the Silph Scope.

Quick path

  1. Enter the Game Corner in Celadon City.
  2. Beat the Rocket next to the poster.
  3. Check the poster to open the secret switch.
  4. Go down the stairs and keep moving through the hideout.
  5. Get the Lift Key, use the elevator, and head to B4.
  6. Beat the two Rockets guarding Giovanni’s room.
  7. Battle Giovanni in the back room.
