HBO Max is set to launch in the UK on 26 March 2026.

Quick Scoop

  • UK launch date: 26 March 2026.
  • Where: UK and Ireland roll-out at the same time.
  • What you get: HBO Originals, Max series, Warner Bros. films, DC content, and TNT Sports in one place.
  • Price (starting): From about £4.99 per month for the basic tier with ads; higher tiers remove ads and add extras like downloads.
  • Why now: Sky’s long-running exclusivity over most HBO shows is winding down, opening the door for HBO’s own service.

A Bit More Detail

For years, UK viewers watched most HBO hits via Sky Atlantic and NOW because of an exclusive licensing deal between Sky and HBO. That arrangement delayed a full HBO Max app in the UK even though it had already rolled out across much of Europe from 2021 onwards.

With that deal easing off, HBO Max is finally arriving as a standalone streaming service, bringing shows like Succession , The White Lotus , Euphoria , Game of Thrones , House of the Dragon , and various Warner Bros. movies under one roof for UK subscribers.
