Quick Scoop: You get Trade Tokens in Pokémon TCG Pocket mainly by exchanging duplicate high-rarity cards, and you may also get some from limited-time events. To do the exchange, go to My Cards , pick a card you have at least 3 copies of, tap Obtain Items , then choose the Trade Token exchange option.

How it works

Trade Tokens are used for trading higher-rarity cards, while low-rarity trades may not need them. The exact amount you get depends on the card rarity, and the game removes the duplicate card when you exchange it.

Fastest way to farm them

  • Sort your collection by rarity or duplicates.
  • Look for cards you have 3 or more copies of.
  • Cash in extras you definitely do not plan to trade.
  • Check event rewards, since some events can grant Trade Tokens.

Important note

Don’t spend every duplicate immediately if you still want to trade that card later, because exchanging it for tokens removes it from your collection. That trade-off matters most for rarer cards.

Steps in-game

  1. Open My Cards.
  2. Sort by rarity or duplicates.
  3. Select a duplicate card with 3+ copies.
  4. Tap Obtain Items.
  5. Choose Trade Tokens.
  6. Confirm the exchange.
