In a devastating turn of events, the police in Muskogee have confirmed the investigation into the shooting deaths of three close relatives of seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson. The victims have been identified as Jack Janway (69), his wife Terry Janway (68), and their 11-year-old grandson Dalton Janway. The incident took place at their residence in Muskogee, located approximately 50 miles southeast of Tulsa.

According to Muskogee police spokesperson Lynn Hamlin, it is believed that Terry Janway fatally shot her husband and grandson before taking her own life. The tragic event unfolded after a distressed woman made a 911 call reporting a disturbance involving a firearm before abruptly hanging up.

Law enforcement swiftly responded to the call, arriving at the scene where they discovered one individual near the front door. Shortly after their arrival, a gunshot echoed from inside the house, leading officers to discover the lifeless bodies of the other two victims. Hamlin has confirmed that the deceased individuals are the parents and nephew of Chandra Janway, Jimmie Johnson’s wife.

Legacy Motor Club, Johnson’s race team, took to Twitter to announce the withdrawal of his No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet from the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago. The team expressed their support for the Johnson family during this difficult time and respected their request for privacy, stating that no further statements would be issued.

NASCAR, deeply saddened by the tragic loss, released a statement offering their heartfelt condolences and support to Chandra, Jimmie, and both the Johnson and Janway families. The racing community stands united in providing solace and comfort during this period of immense grief.
